Some of the possible reasons for the occurrence of dandruff are high stress level, zinc deficiency, poor eating habits, and change in weather. Dandruff is identified by scaly patches on the scalp, which form loose flakes and cause itching. How To Cure Dandruff
  • Add 1 tbsp baking soda and crushed aspirin to your shampoo and wash your hair with it. You will be able to get rid of dandruff and itching considerably with this, Even your hair will get softened in this process.You can also use mouthwash or vinegar with shampoo, instead.
  • Make a mixture of 1 tablespoon each of lime juice and olive oil and massage it on your scalp. Leave the mixture as such overnight and then wash your hair with shampoo the next morning.
  • Mix goldenseal, fenugreek seeds and rosemary and put the mixture in boiling tea leaves. Let the mixture cool down and then apply it directly to the scalp. Leave for 15 minutes and rinse off completely using the shampoo. Do not keep it on the scalp for a long period, as it can cause irritation to the skin. You can rinse it off immediately if it causes irritation.
  • Beat two eggs and add two tablespoon of water in it. Pour water on your hair and massage your scalp thoroughly with the egg mixture for about 10 minutes. Then, rinse it with shampoo and lukewarm water.
  • You can get plenty of anti-dandruff shampoos in the market. These shampoos use zinc pyrithine, selenium sulphide, ketoconazole or tar, which are highly effective components to fight against dandruff.
  • Rub aloe vera gel on your scalp and leave it on for 30 minutes. Then, wash your hair using a shampoo that has some aloe vera content.
  • You can make a mixture of three parts lemon juice and one part sandalwood and apply on the scalp, to get rid of dandruff. Margosa oil and camphor mixture also work great to fight against dandruff.
  • Soak 25 grams of dried Indian Gooseberry in a liter of water. Leave it overnight and boil the mixture in the morning, till half of the water evaporates. Now add 25 grams yogurt to it and massage your scalp with it. Leave on for about half an hour and rinse properly under cold water.
  • Simple coconut oil, mixed with lemon juice, can also work effectively to fight against dandruff.
  • Put some lemon peels in coconut oil and keep them in sunshine for 8 to 10 days. Sieve the contents and apply on the hair to become dandruff free.
  • Using hot oil therapy is a wonderful tip to get rid of dandruff. Massage some warm oil on the scalp and leave it overnight. Next morning, before having bath, rub the scalp with cotton wool dipped in a mixture of lemon juice and cosmetic vinegar. Rinse properly and at the end, wash with some lemon juice mixed in a hot cup of water. Repeat the process for two times in a week, for about 3 months.
  • Crush some beetroot leaves in the paste of henna and apply the mixture on the scalp. Keep for an hour and then rinse off with water.
  • Diet therapy can also be undertaken to treat dandruff. Have low saturated fats in the diet, to avoid junk foods and reduce the intake of sugar. This will prevent excess production of oil, which is a cause behind dandruff. In additional, vitamin B12 supplements can be taken to promote the health of hair root.
