How To Get Rid of Head Lice

If there’s one thing that can be worse than dandruff, it has got be head lice. Of what use is it if you have great looking hair that just also happens to be ridden with lice. However, if you are struggling to cope with the predicament that is head lice, you can thank your stars that this does not mean the end of the hairy road for you. Fortunately, there are a few things that you can do to get rid of the lice on your head. After all, in life, if you want something or if you want to get rid of something, you just can’t sit back and expect it all to fall in place. You will have to take your steps and make your moves to achieve your desired objectives. Read on to discover four methods that are almost guaranteed to kill head lice. Getting Rid Of Head Lice  

Act On Advice
One of the safest ways of getting rid of head lice is to do so by first visiting a physician and resorting to his suggested course of action. In most cases, you will be asked to use a prescription medication shampoo. Medicated shampoos come in neuro-toxic variants and are best used after reading and following all instructions that come along with them.

Onions To The Rescue
This method of getting rid of head lice will actually have you taking some efforts to put together an effective treatment plan. You can begin by juicing a medium sized onion. This can be done by processing the onion in a food processor and then passing the onion mixture through a sieve. The juice that is the result of passing the onion mixture through the sieve can be applied on your head. However, it shouldn’t just stop with the application. You will have to apply the onion juice onto your head and then wrap your head with a plastic wrap and then a towel. Stay like this for three to four hours before actually going in for a shower. Once you are done washing the onion juice away, make it a point to use a nit comb to comb your hair. Repeating this procedure for three to four days consecutively will help you get rid of head lice.

Vinegar Wars
This one is all about strategizing and ‘sleeping on it’! Start off by mixing six teaspoons of tap water with around two teaspoons of white vinegar. To this solution, dip in a cotton ball and work the cotton ball over your entire head. While doing this, you will have to concentrate on the roots of your hair. Concentrating on the roots of your hair will make it that much easier for you to get rid of head lice. Then proceed to wrap your head in a cotton cloth and sleep on it. The next morning, you can shampoo your hair to get rid of the vinegar. Repeat this procedure for three to four days and the lice on your head should be as good as gone. 

Lime And Garlic Relief
If you are not too fond of garlic, you can feel free to stay away from this method of getting rid of head lice. However, if you don’t mind garlic, begin by grinding four cloves of garlic into a fine paste. To the fine paste of garlic, add a tablespoon of fresh lemon juice. Stir in the lemon juice and apply the lemon juice and garlic mixture onto your scalp and hair. Wrap your head in a cotton cloth and hit the sack. When you wake up in the morning, wash off the paste with a gentle shampoo. Dry your hair and comb it with a fine-toothed comb. Repeat these steps for five days continuously and the lice on your head should be on their way out!
