How To Get Rid Of Baggy Eyes

Eye puffiness has become a common problem, all thanks to the lifestyle that never falls short of stress. Not only exhaustion, there are many other causes such as water retention, allergies, lack of sleep, hormonal changes, high sodium levels and emotional crying that bring about baggy eyes. Sometimes, eyes happen to be itchy, red and swollen to the extent of soreness. If the majority of people in a family have baggy eyes, then it can be stated as a hereditary trait and must be accepted like that. Puffiness around eyes can also develop due to aging. Besides these reasons, baggy eyes caused by any other factor can be treated by following some simple remedies.
  • When you get up, give your face a splash of cold water. You can use cold tap water or a mixture of ice cubes and water for this purpose. If at all possible, get water on your face for up to 5 minutes.
  • Take two tea bags, soak them in water and squeeze them out. Put them in the refrigerator for chilling. When the tea bags get chilled, lie down and keep the bags on closed eyelids for 5 -10 minutes.
  • Take a cold cucumber and cut two slices out of it, about 1 /2 inch thick. Keep the slices on closed eyelids for 5 minutes.
  • Since water retention is another cause for puffy eyes, drink lots of water. Water also helps to flush out excess salt from your body.
  • Prior to sleeping, don’t forget to remove contact lenses because lens irritation and drying also cause puffiness.
  • Avoid too much rubbing or drying of eyes since it aggravates the allergies and results in puffiness.
  • Get regular sleep of about 7-9 hours every night.
  • Reduce your salt intake because salt can cause water retention, which ultimately leads to puffy eyes.
