Getting Rid Of Acne Spots
  • Don’t scratch the acne. Scratching will leave a permanent scar on your skin. Also, never in any case, squeeze it, as it may cause the pus inside the inflammation, to move deeper inside the skin, causing more complications.
  • Wash the skin for not more than two times a day. Any more than that will leave, the skin dry and raw. Since acne is not caused by dirt, any amount of cleaning or the use of cleansing won’t help to cure acne.
  • Use oil free moisturizers and make up products. Though make up does not cause acne, it can cause the acne to break out. Test the product on your skin before applying it.
  • Relieve stress. Stress increases the skin oil production, which causes acne. So, involve yourselves in stress busting exercises. Work out is also a good way to reduce stress and stabilize the changing hormones, which helps in reducing the skin oil production. Sweating, during workouts opens up the pores of dead skin cells.
  • Make the skin shed its outermost layer, by the application of salicylic acid. This rids the skin of dead cells leaving the skin free of blockages. Do not apply the salicylic acid in open wounds or sores.
  • Apply benzoyl peroxide. This chemical can kill the bacteria that inhabits in the pore, causing inflammation. The action of the chemical occurs slowly and may take a few weeks.
  • Use antibiotics to prevent bacterial growth. Tetracycline is best to use and is the most commonly prescribed. The pitfall is that, too much use of antibiotic, can cause dryness of the skin, and make it sensitive to light.
  • Women can use birth control pills, to treat acne. Birth control pills, containing the hormones estrogen and progestin have the capability to lower the sebum production, the main cause of acne, resulting in less acne. Birth control pills also have their own side effects, so care is advised.
  • In cases of severe acne, the use of isotretinonin is recommended. Isotretinonin reduces the sebum production, after a treatment of five to six months. The effectiveness depends from person to person, but it has the capacity to significantly reduce the breakout of acne.
  • Dabbing some tea tree antiseptic oil, on the blemish before going to bed clears it of impurities.
