- About 1 kg of large shelled shrimps
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 tea-spoon sugar
- Salt
- Curry powder
- 1 egg
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoon salad oil
- Frying oil
Butterfly Shrimp Recipe
- The first step involves shelling the shrimp, but remember while shelling it do not remove the tail.
- Take the knife and insert it into the head region of the shrimp; insert only till about 3/4 of the way.
- Now, cut the shrimp, starting from the head region, through the flesh all the way into the shrimp's back and the tail.
- The next step is to use your hands to open the shrimp and put it flat on the table.
- Remove the veins of the shrimp with your hands or the tip of the knife.
- Now, wash the shrimp under cold water thoroughly.
- Mix flour, sugar, salt and curry powder.
- Add egg, water and salad oil and then mix these well.
- Coat the shrimp with this mixture that you just created.
- Start deep frying the shrimps in hot oil and keep frying it until it has turned golden brown.
- Now, drain the oil from the shrimp by towering it with paper.
- Your butterfly shrimp is ready to eat.
