Honda Motor Company, which till now had cars suitable for only 10 percent ethanol blend in petrol, is all set to roll its E20 cars in the Indian market by this December, probably even before the year 2008 comes to an end. The company has already unveiled its E20 cars (cars complaint with 20 percent ethanol blend in petrol) in other Asian countries, like Thailand. Now, it is all set to put the Indian automobile market on fire.
This announcement came at a time when Indian government is still thinking about making E10 mandatory for cars, by October 2008. Mr Jnaneshwar Sen (Senior General Manager - Sales and Marketing, Honda Siel Cars India) has said that by using new and innovative technology, the company is trying to safeguard the interest of the customers who buy their products. Honda Siel Cars India also has plans to launch a new version of Accord and a variant of CRV, its SUV.
With the new development, Honda has moved much ahead of Maruti Suzuki, which is in the process of launching its E10 cars by December 2008. Honda Siel Cars India is on an expansion path. It has already started on the course of expanding its production facility at Greater Noida, by manufacturing additional 50,000 units. Not only this, Honda is also planning to begin manufacture of its premium hatchback in 2009, at its new facility in Rajasthan.
