Golden Chariot Luxury Train

‘The Golden Chariot’, the name itself brings along a memory of the royal bygone era of India. Launched by Karnataka, Golden Chariot promises to offer its guests an opportunity to explore the true beauty and sights of the country. Named after the ‘Stone Chariot’ in Hampi, the train will take you on a luxurious voyage through the historical sights, splendid palaces, picturesque beaches and rich wildlife of India. The journey aboard the ‘The Golden Chariot’ will last for 7 nights and 8 days and through the time, being treated like royalty; you will feel as if you have been transported to the past
 
The starting destination of the train is Bangalore and it will make its first trial run on 10th March 2008. All the duties related to the on board and off board hospitality in ‘The Golden Chariot’ have been handed over to ‘The Mapple Group’, counted amongst the leading Hotel & Resort chains of India. Throughout the journey, the guest will be center of everything. His comfort and his individuality will be what will hold the greatest importance. In short, it will completely adhere to the adage ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ i.e. ‘Guest is God’.
 
The Facilities 
The following facilities will be provided to the guests onboard ‘The Golden Chariot’:
 
  • Fully air-conditioned cabins, based on Mysore and Hoysala architecture), equipped with vanity/writing desk, Wi-Fi, LCD TV (with 6 satellite channels), DVD, wardrobe and bathroom.
  • Two restaurants, named Nala and Ruchi. The restaurants will serve both vegetarian and non-vegetarian cusines. They have been equipped with 4-seater and 2-seater dining cabins and have the interiors based on Hampi and Halebid architectural style.
  • A Lounge Bar, named Madira. Amidst the plush interiors, based on Mysore Palace, enjoy having your favorite drinks onboard.
  • Conference coach, with a seating capacity of 25-30 guests, 42” LCD TV and high-speed internet surfing facility.
  • Gym coach, comprising of an Ayurveda centre, spa, massage rooms and gymnasium.

  • 10% surcharge will be levied on departures during Christmas/ New Year.
  • Service Tax @ 3.09% will be levied on the tariff mentioned above.

  • The tariff will have to be paid in two installments. 20% to be paid at the time of confirmation of booking and rest 80% to be paid 30 days before departure.
