The pH of human blood should be alkaline in nature and not acidic. An acidic pH is the result of an acid forming diet, combined with emotional stress, toxic overload, and/or immune reactions. The body compensates this acidic pH with alkaline foods i.e. the foods that are low in acid. However, if the consumption of low acid foods is not enough, it will lead to a build up of acids in the cells. This can, in turn, cause decrease in body's ability to absorb nutrients, low energy production in cells, inhibited ability to detoxify heavy metals, thriving of tumor cells, susceptibility to fatigue and illness, and so on. In other words, we should consume a diet that has a proper balance of acid and alkaline foods.
Why Low Acid Fruits?
Foods that produce acid after digestion are the root causes of a number of physical problems and diseases. This results in the need for consumption of food stuffs that not acidic in nature or the ones that have very low acid content. Talking about fruits, those with low acid content should be included in every diet, because disorderly lifestyle triggers number of diseases such as acidosis.
Acidosis
Acidosis is a condition wherein the pH-balance of the body is disturbed, due to the excess consumption of acid-producing foods. In such a situation, the alkaline reserves of the body are depleted, which further weakens our health condition, because the excess acid thus formed should be neutralized. Moreover, the body fails to absorb vitamins, minerals and other important nutrients from the food. Energy production in the cells also gets decreased. So, unless the pH level is alkaline, the body won’t be able to heal itself. This creates the need to have foods that have a very low acidic content.
