After watching ‘Fox’, one thing that I can say for sure is that Deepak Tijori has surely gotten over his
‘Oops!’ days. This one is a thriller flick, without any sleazy sequences thrown in. However, he is yet to grow as the director of a hardcore thriller. He wasted unnecessary time in the first half of the movie, building character sketches and providing a lengthy prologue. The build-up of the love angle and lousy song sequences made you long for the interval. As to the second half, it is not bad, but not exceptionally good as well.

The build-up of the love angle and lousy song sequences made you long for the interval. As to the second half, it is not bad, but not exceptionally good as well. The basic concept behind ‘Fox’ was quite interesting, but the writing (of the story) did not support it well. Even the direction was miserable at times. The screenplay could have been much more precise, with the cinematography being slicker and the editing crispier. In fact, many-a-times, the shoddy editing made us doubt whether ‘Fox’ is a thriller or not. On top of that, the (usually) suspecting cop that makes the base for a thriller was absent. In fact, here the cop also gave the accused the benefit of doubt (poor direction, I say!).
The ‘too many’ characters and forced twists in ‘Fox’ added to its lackluster appeal. On top of that, even the mystery doesn’t seem to be a mystery at all! The only engaging aspect of the movie was the love track between Arjun and Sagarika (though she could have done with better dubbing). Arjun played his part well, while Sunny Deol managed to control his hysterics and deliver a good performance. Sagarika Ghatge showed promise, while Udita Goswami just added an oomph factor to the movie! All in all, a passable flick!

‘Fox’ promises to be an out and out thriller, which leads us from the streets of ‘City of Dreams’ Mumbai to the Beach Capital of India - Goa. It takes us into the life of Arjun Kapoor (Arjun Rampal), who is a successful criminal lawyer. Armed with complete law knowledge and aggressive by nature, he has earned a reputation for himself - he never loses a case and can get anyone acquitted from the court, irrespective of the nature of the crime committed. It is, then, hardly surprising that criminals across the country run after him.
For Arjun, success is what matters, not the means of attaining it. He has no moral qualms in getting criminals acquitted and letting them roam free to commit more offenses. However, one fine day, his guilt comes face to face with him and full of remorse, he decides to quit his law practice and become a changed man. However, there is someone out there who will not let him do this, so easily. Now, Arjun has to save himself, with the help of his girlfriend Urvashi (Sagarika) and a police officer Yash Deshmukh (Sunny Deol). Will he be able to do so?
