How to Make Figgy Pudding Recipe
Ingredients
- ¼ tsp Ground Nutmeg
- ½ cup Butter, at room temperature
- ½ cup Walnuts, chopped
- ½ tsp Baking Soda
- ½ tsp Grated Lemon Peel
- ½ tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1 cup Molasses
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 cups Dried Figs, finely chopped after removing stems
- 2 Eggs, beaten
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 2½ cups All-purpose Flour
- Whipped Cream, for garnish
Procedure
- Put the butter in a pan or mixer and cream until fluffy.
- Add the eggs and molasses. Beat thoroughly.
- Now, add figs, lemon peel, buttermilk and walnuts. Blend for one minute.
- Finally, put all the remaining ingredients in the bowl (except cream). Blend thoroughly.
- Take an 8” by 4” soufflé dish. Grease and flour it lightly.
- Now, pour the batter in the dish.
- Bake in a preheated oven, at 325 deg F for around 1 hour.
- Take out the putting and cut it into wedges.
- Garnish with whipped cream and serve.
