Have you wanted to irritate someone since long, but did not know how? Gift him a free ticket for ‘Fast Forward’, in a hall where he would not be allowed to leave before the movie ends! Yes, the movie IS that bad! Calling those vagabonds in the movie dancers is like an insult to dance. They wear outrageous outfits, have the weirdest of hairstyles and have no better thing to do in life other than roaming around in either malls or streets of Mumbai (and you would hope to see them dancing most of the time, since they aspire to be world-renowned dancers).
The raucous, tacky and irritating mannerism of the central characters of ‘Fast Forward’ makes the film hardly bearable. Since the movie is based on ‘dance’ and ‘dancers’, you would obviously expect excellent choreography, on foot tapping numbers. But, all this remains only a dream in this movie. Rather than dance, it was the abysmal romance track and murderous gangsters that seem to form the central theme of the movie. On top of that, the expectation of even mediocre acting is not met.
The things called ‘story’ and ‘screenplay’ were completely missing from ‘Fast Forward’. There was not a single actor in the movie whom you could credit with even passable performance. In fact, Rehan Khan seemed to be fixed with a single expression, of anger, which he managed to pass on to the audience as well. And what were Vinod Khanna and Mahesh Manjrekar, two of the finest actors in Bollywood, doing in such a movie! As I told you earlier, this is one flick you would only want your enemies to watch (to torture them that is).
