Dry Skin Remedies

Your skin is said to be dry when it has low levels of sebum and is prone to sensitivity. When less oil is produced by the oil glands, it results in a dry and flaky look for the skin, due to lack of moisture. This situation usually occurs in winter, when humidity is less. The most affected areas include thighs, lower arms, chest, and sides of abdomen, cheeks and the area around the eyes. Dryness makes the skin tight after a wash and in severe cases; it causes scaliness and cracks on the skin as well. Though skin conditions are considered hereditary, they can occur due to insufficient nutrients in the diet and other environmental factors. Dry skin conditions can be corrected by both external and internal treatments. To know more on how to cure dry skin through home remedies, read on further.

  • Stop using harsh soaps and face washes, as they remove the natural oils that protect your skin.
  • Bathing with milk once a month is also very effective.
  • Include sour and salty foods and sweet juicy fruits in your diet. Take yellow and orange vegetables like carrot that are rich in anti-oxidants.
