Dostana Movie'Dostana' has finally hit the theaters and it seems like its 'dostana' with the audience will go a long away. First, let us clear some misconceptions - the movie is not 'Brokeback Mountain', it is not a serious take on homosexual relationships and it does not offer a funny take on gays and their relationships. Rather, it is a fun-filled and hilarious movie that revolves around two guys, who pretend to be gay lovers. One of the best parts of the movie is that it does not fall into 'gay' stereotype and gives respect and dignity to homosexuals.

Okay, you have seen the trailers of 'Dostana' and were much shocked by it. This shock value has been carried throughout the movie, where one surprise tumbles out after the other. Mind you, these surprises will make you laugh your heart you. So, be prepared. Kudos to Karan Johar and Tarun Mansukhani (the debutant director) for walking on the untrodden path and broaching a subject as sensitive as homosexuality! Even Abhishek and John deserve applause for playing gay characters, that too without making a mockery of homosexuals.

Except in a few scenes, you will hardly find any stereotypical situations or characters in Dostana. The first half of the movie is fantabulous, making you laugh so much that you might end up falling on the floor. The chemistry between Abhishek and John, the USP of 'Dostana', is terrific. The second half is a bit less entertaining, as it seems stretched and could have done with some editing. The end is pretty shocking and will have its fair share of advocates and adversaries. The style quotient is high, cinematography excellent and music catchy.

John and Abhishek, acting as gay couple, are par excellence. While Abhishek has delivered one of his finest performances, John has proven that he CAN ACT, that too brilliantly! Their comic timing is perfect and both of them complement each other well. Priyanka has proved her mettle once again after 'Fashion'. She is looking 'hot' and has acted really well. Bobby Deol has played his part with élan. Boman Irani, as usual, makes you roar with laughter, while Kirron Kher plays the perfect Punjabi Mom and Sushmita Mukherjee is fantastic. This one's definitely worth spending your moolah in a multiplex.

Dostana Pre-release Review
Are you ready for some fun and frolic on the happening beaches of Miami - the Beach Party Capital of the world? Yes? Welcome to 'Dostana'! The latest movie by Dharma Productions, 'Dostana' is the story of friendship and love, with the right amount of fun and naughtiness, thrown in. Produced by Yash Johar and Karan Johar, it will be released on 14th November 2008. The movie has been directed by Tarun Mansukhani and has John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan and Bobby Deol in the star cast.

Adding to the 'hotness' quotient of 'Dostana' is the special guest appearance of Shilpa Shetty. The music for the film has been provided by Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani, while Vishal Dadlani, Kumaar and Anvita Dutt Guptan are the lyricists. 'Dostana' starts with Sameer (Abhishek Bachchan) and Kunal (John Abraham) looking for an apartment in Miami. They are turned down by the land lady of an apartment. The reason for this is that she has a young and very sexy niece Neha (Priyanka Chopra) and does not want her falling into any danger.

Not left with any other option, Sameer and Kunal decide to adopt plan 'G', declaring themselves as gay lovers, just to secure that apartments. The plan works and they start living in the same house as Neha. Now begins a journey of joy, fun, excitement and loads of laughter. The trouble comes when Sameer and Kunal end up falling in love with Neha, who considers them gay. On top of that, Neha’s boss Abhimanyu (Bobby Deol) also wants to win Neha's love. To know what happens in the end, we will have to wait for the movie's release.
