Dog Ear Infection Home Remedy

Bloody, swollen or waxy ears with odor and pain around the ears, and changes in behavior such as depression or irritability are tell tale signs of ear infection in your dog. Other signs that can tell you this are shaking the head, scratching, holding the head to one side, and continuous whining. Ear infections are very stressing to your pet because they cause a lot of discomfort and pain. Dogs, which love swimming, and dogs with floppy ears are more prone to such infections because their ears trap a lot of moisture due to poor air circulation. Basically, dogs suffer from three types of ear infection– the outer ear infection, the middle ear infection, and the inner ear infection. If your dog has an ear infection, do not take it lightly because it may sometimes pose a serious health hazard. Left unattended for long, the infection can perforate the eardrums, and cause other grave damages. However, if you have taken it to a vet, and come back with no results there is something you should know. Too much antibiotics kills your pet’s natural ability to cure itself, as it kills the good bacteria as well. So, read below for some home remedies, which will help you to cure the ear infections in your dogs.

Clean only the outer ear, avoiding the inner ear, so that you do not hurt your dog or worsen the infection. Using this remedy will kill off the yeast. Besides, you can also give this solution to your pet to drink.

Garlic oil is a natural antibiotic and so, it is excellent for ear infections. You can make it at home by crushing a garlic clove, and soaking it in 2 tablespoons of organic olive oil. Do not soak the garlic for long because if left overnight garlic can become harmful to use in dogs.
