If you are a passionate car lover, you probably will not want to miss out on the forthcoming, grand Auto Expo 2008 to be convened in January in New Delhi. The reason? Apart from the numerous automobiles that will be on display there, one will also see the famous Indian car designer Dilip Chabria unveil two of his own creations!
The proprietor of the popular DC College of Designs or DC Designs, Dilip Chabria is now increasingly becoming synonymous with auto-expos and the casual chit-chats have it that his new cars are set to rock the Auto Expo 2008. Though remaining clandestine about the whole affair, “wild creations” is how Dilip Chabria chooses to describe the cars he will introduce to the public at the Expo 2008 which will be held from January 10 to 17.
Apart from his contribution to the particular James Bond movie, Dilip Chabria has bagged other kudos too. Dilip first hit the headlines after he introduced a prototype of the Aston Martin AMV8 in 2003. His is now a prominent name in the custom-designed automobile market, pushing the benchmark of creativity and sophistication a notch higher with every new piece he designs.
The Indian car designer is, however, all set to pass on his designing expertise through the opening up of DC College of Designs on the periphery of Pune city in India by 2009. With queue of elite customers for custom-made automobiles growing every passing day, this college is predicted to be quite a hit upon inception. An Indian customer is ready to splurge $100,000-150,000 dollars for a custom-designed car, while an overseas one will spend anywhere between $254,000- $500,000 dollars, confirms Dilip Chabria himself.
