Touted as Bollywood’s biggest award event, the nominations for Filmfare Award 2008 are already making news. Breaking the 52-year old tradition is the child actor who made you experience a plethora of emotions in his movie ‘Taare Zameen Par’, Darsheel Safary. Apparently, this young kid has been nominated for a Filmfare Award; not in the debut performance; but in the Best Actor category! This is the first time a child star has been nominated for Best Actor in a leading role Award by Filmfare.
Darsheel Safari will be competing with Bollywood biggies like Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapur and Abhishek Bachchan. In Taare Zameen Par, Darsheel portrayed the role of a dyslexic child Ishaan and made people give him a standing ovation after they saw the movie. He made them experience a wide range of emotions from a child’s point of view and people swore by his acting skills.
Taare Zameen Par is Aamir Khan’s directorial Debut and even the talented actor has praised Darsheel for his superb acting. Darsheel was nominated in the Best Child Artiste category by the Star Screen awards this year and also won the award. But the little master insists that he should have been nominated in the Best Actor category and should have also won the award as he portrayed the leading role in a movie.
