Let's get the facts right first - ‘Click’ is a remake of the Thai movie ‘Shutter’, which was made with the same title in US as well and then as ‘Photo’ in Telugu and ‘Sivi’ in Tamil. A part of it even reminds you of ‘Raaz’. Now, if you have not seen any of them till now, then you might give ‘Click’ a try. Though not as impressive as the original, the movie surely has a few scenes that will make the hair on your arms stand up. The horror is there alright, though not as much as we would have liked to see. Still, you do get jolted out of your seat in a few of the scenes (and that is more than an average Bollywood horror flick, right?)
One of the areas where ‘Click’ fails to rise above the regular Bollywood horror flicks is the ‘ghost’ part. I mean like, was it really necessarily to give it a hideous, chalk-like appearance? At the same time, a few more terrifying scenes would have really upped the ‘horror’ quotient. The best part of the movie is its climax, which is so different from the usual horror movies that you get taken aback for a few seconds. The other plus points of the ‘Click’ include excellent sound design and great acting by Shreyas Talpade. Even Sada and Sneha Ullal seem decent enough. Watch it in the theater if you have nothing better to do this weekend!
