For all those who have waited so much time for the next Nagesh Kukunoor release, the time is here. With the releasing of ‘Bombay to Bangkok’ today (18th January), they have their prayers finally answered. But, this time, we came back from the hall a little disappointed with Nagesh, or shall we say the movie! He has tried to make a typical Bollywood masala film this time, but somehow his charm got lost on the way. Though it would not be correct to label the movie an out and out dud, it doesn’t manage to impress either.

Initially, as the movie opens up, the plot seems to be quite entertaining as well as gripping. However, it loses the grip on the audience before the interval only - mainly because of the faulty screenplay. Though nobody can deny the excellent direction and execution of Nagesh, but in absence of a proper story and screenplay, it fails to pull the film through. Still, he manages to entertain you atleast in some of the scenes. The problem is that, whenever seen in totality, the film fails to create that zing.

The songs of the movie are good and get you ticking and humming. Even the cinematography manages to make an impact on you. As far as performances are concerned, Shreyas manages to win our hearts, once again! Even the Thai actress Lena manages to get applauds. Vijay Maurya and Yateen Karyekar are also good. However, the movie has failed to exploit the potential of a great actor like Naseeruddin Shah. On the whole, Bombay to Bangkok manages to bring a few laughs here and there, but definitely lacks the Nagesh Kukunoor magic.
