Talk about amusement park with a difference! This one is sure to pop your eyes out if not scream out in sheer thrill. Ripley’s Believe it or Not is all set to open up its park in Bangalore in India. In a joint venture along with Prasad Labs, Ripley Entertainment Inc is all set to open up a thrilling amusement park on a franchisee basis. The investment is speculated to be around $4million, of which $1 million is being invested by Ripley and the rest is being invested by Prasad Labs.
The amusement park will be one of its kinds in India and will definitely live upto its name of ‘Believe it or Not’. There are plans of including Ripley's Incredible Maze, Believe It or Not Museum, Louis Tussaud's Wax Works and Guinness World Record Museum. This park would cover an area of around 12,000 sq. feet near Bangalore. The amusement park should be ready by April this year, if everything goes well.
The Indian amusement and leisure industry is going to see some good investments and great projects coming up. Over the next 5 years, India is expected to have some 500 new amusement parks of international standards. There is speculation that Disney is also evaluating India to open up an amusement park here. Though the investment would be really high (around $1 billion), the park that would be set up would be similar to Universal Studios located in Los Angeles.
