If you have nothing much to do this weekend or want to de-stress your tired and parched nerves after a hectic week, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani(APKGK)would be a treat to your eyes. Juggling between romantic comedy and slapstick, the movie manages to tickle the funny side of the audience completely. You are sure to laugh your heart out all through the flick, rejoicing even the madcap slapstick. A decade after the classic cult of Andaz Apna Apna (AAA), director Rajkumar Santoshi has proved his mettle right again. Though APKGK cannot be slated to stand in the same level as AAA, the juvenility of the characters is sure to allure your mind!The basic premise of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani might not be excellent - what be the same old concept of a domineering father, an over-caring mother, the predictable romance, hero's trusty buddies and the heroine who manages to fall into problem over and over again, yet you are willing to ignore all the above – thanks to the weird expressions and hilarious one-liners. Talking about the music of the film, it’s nothing less than being splendid!! All the songs are beautifully scripted and nicely styled. The cinematography, editing and sound design of the flick is absolutely perfect, demeaning all the flaws adequately.
Coming to the individual performance, Ranbir Kapoor is surely the one you need to check out for. After the impressive performance in ‘Wake Up Sid’, Ranbir takes a plunge ahead by marking his dominance in all the spheres of acting. Be it comedy, romance or emotions – Ranbir exploits his talents to the extreme. Katrina is as usual an absolute damsel in the movie. She adds the much needed glam quotient to the film with her screen presence and stunning looks. The chemistry between the two hotties is also worth watching. In a nutshell, the movie can be described as a bouquet of comedy, emotion and romance!

Ranbir Kapoor seems to be in demand these days. After wooing the audience with his performance in ‘Wake Up Sid’, he is all set to tickle their funny bones with ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’. A romantic comedy, it has Katrina Kaif paired opposite Ranbir and even Salman Khan in a special appearance. Upen Patel, Asrani, Lalit Parashar, and Darshan Jariwala make up the rest of the star cast. The movie has been directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Ramesh S Taurani. It will be released under the banner ‘Tips Music Films’, on November 6, 2009.Irshad Kamil has penned down the lyrics for 'Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani’, with the music being provided by Pritam Chakraborty! The movie provides us a peek into the life of Prem (Ranbir Kapoor), a happy-go-lucky guy, whose life revolves around a basic funda – be happy...make others happy...keep the town happy... However, irrespective of the honest intentions of Prem, his funda leads to catastrophic consequences for him, the members of his Happy Club, and even the town, more often than not!
One fine day, Prem ends up kidnapping kidnap Jenny (Katrina Kaif), mistaking her for someone else. Even after he realizes his mistake, rather than letting go of Jenny, Prem tries to pull a fast one over her father (for money of course). Jenny, who has been brought up by cold, callous and heartless foster parents, wants only one thing in life - to love and be loved in return. Even before he could realize, Prem ends up falling in love with the sweet and simple Jenny and even becomes a changed guy.
From someone who is not ready to move an inch, a hardly-working vagabond, Prem becomes someone who starts working hard to make money. Maturity takes place of naiveté and he turns into a man who puts his love’s (Jenny's) happiness above everything else. On the other hand, Jenny is merely in love with the idea of being in love. And in all this, she ignores to see the one reality that stares in her face. The reality of Prem and Prem’s true love! Will Jenny ever be able to realize this? Will this ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ have a happy ending?
